In improving the overall efficiency and quality of affordable housing, our LQS Series utilizes the following unique and innovative components:
Energy Star Home
Our home utilizes the latest in construction technology to create a structure which reaches the highest energy efficiency rating of 5 Stars. Construction consists of pre-fabricated wall panels which have utility systems integrated within. We have the ability to diversify plan layouts and maintain the livable area of approximately 1,200 square feet. Homes are delivered to our site and erected in one-third less time than standard construction. The Energy Star Home exceeds all construction standards and practices. Compared to standard construction, this structure is 46% higher in efficiency and receives an energy rating score of 89.2 points. Energy-efficient homes also are eligible for lower-point mortgages through Energy Star.
Energy Fuel Cell
Fuel cell technology represents the most exciting and innovative development in alternative energy. Fuel cell technology has recently become available for implementation into mainstream construction. A fuel cell directly converts chemical energy into electricity. Direct conversion is environmentally attractive because of inherently low emissions, as well as noise and vibration. This fuel cell has its energy continually replenished and continues to produce electricity as long as natural gas or propane is supplied.
Utilizing this fuel cell will remove these homes from the electrical gird by acting as an independent power source. The fuel cell can be designed to accommodate all the electrical needs of a single family home. An efficiency of 30% to 45% can be attained resulting in significant energy savings.
Tankless, Endless Hot Water Heater
This technological marvel does not utilize a storage tank in its design. A standard water heater must continuously consume fuel in order to provide hot water when needed. Our new, modern, high tech water heater is activated only when the need arises. Our tank shuts off the moment you shut off the faucet, thus, reducing high-energy consumption. Our tank can deliver endless hot water since there is no recovery time. The sealed combustion chamber can provide up to 380,000 BTUs and over 700 gallons of hot water per hour. This computer-controlled system can modulate itself by detecting water flow and temperature. Power venting virtually eliminates carbon monoxide hazards and a less than 1.5 cubic foot design provides additional usable floor space. We have confirmed energy savings of 25% to 39% over standard systems.
Flameless, Hydronic, High Velocity Furnace
This revolutionary hot air furnace design is energized by a hot water coil. This coil replaces the standard gas fired chamber and heat exchanger. In the heating mode, hot water from the tankless water heater is pumped through the coils creating radiant heat and a blower passes air over the hot water coils moving warm air through the duct system. Our furnace contains no combustion chamber and therefore requires no chimney, flue or venting of any manner. Heat loss is eliminated and construction costs are reduced. We have confirmed energy savings of 25% as compared to standard forced air systems.
Heat Recovery Ventilator
High energy costs have caused builders to construct tighter buildings with minimized heat loss in winter and less leakage of cool air in summer. Without fresh air being introduced into a building and stale air being exhausted to the outside, higher concentrations of carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, mold, moisture, chemical vapors, etc. are certain to occur. This situation, in turn, may cause a variety of respiratory ailments and building deterioration. Allowing fresh air in without controlling it, especially during winter months, will result in extreme heat energy loses. This is not only impractical but very costly.
The heat recovery ventilation our system utilizes resolves the above stated problems by drawing in and exhausting adequate amounts of air to maintain low concentrations of pollutants, toxins and moisture. Simultaneously, our HRV unit tempers the incoming air capturing about 75% to 85% of the energy, which would have been evacuated out of the building. This prevents our heating system from from being taxed into heavy duty.
Whole House Filter System
Proper ventilation does improve indoor air quality but only to a point. It does not remove all the toxins and pollutants but merely reduces their concentrations and then only to certain levels. To reduce particulates and pollutants to their lowest levels, an effective filtration system should be installed.
This unit functions independently of our furnace and therefor creates no drain on any other component. The principle utilized by our system forces air through a bypass path while at the same time never restricting airflow. No maintenance is required and filters are replaced once every year. Our unit is the only one that captures 99.9% of all particles larger than .5 microns and 90% of all particles smaller than .3 microns. The effectiveness of this unit can not be surpassed.
